Hyderabad, January 1: As many as 461 new cases of Covid-19 and three deaths were registered in Telangana State as on December 31, 2020 till 8 pm. Of 461 new cases, a total of 108 cases have been registered in Greater Hyderabad.
According to the Media Bulletin issued by the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare on Friday, with this increase, the total number of Covid-19 cases registered in Telangana State has increased to 2,86,815 while the death toll has increased to 1,544. The state’s fatality rate due to Covid-19 now stands at 0.53% which is less than the national average of 1.4%.
As many as 617 people recovered from the diseases on Thursday bringing the overall recovery figure to 2,79,456. The recovery rate now stands at 97.43%, which is higher than the national average of 96.1%. The state currently has 5,815 active cases and as many as 3,674 are under home/institutional isolation.
On Thursday, the government screened 42,013 people for the virus. There have been 69,24,707 samples checked in the State so far. Tested samples per million population are at 1,86,048. Reports of 763 samples are still awaited.
