5 killed, 6 injured in road accident at ORR


Hyderabad, March 28: Five persons were killed and four others were critically injured when the car they were travelling in was hit by a lorry on Outer Ring Road, Shamshabad late on Friday night. The deceased include an 18-month boy and a nine-year-old girl.

According to police, the victims were labourers who were returning from Suryapet to their native place Raichur in Karnataka. Nearly 30 labourers had lost their job due to Coronavirus and were returning home. However, the car they were travelling in was hit by a truck carrying mangoes from behind. The accident was so intense that five people died on the spot.

On information police reached the spot and immediately shifted the injured persons to Osmania General Hospital. Police are also investigating as to how they managed to travel from Surpayet till Shamshabad despite ongoing lockdown.
